Pasadena PIO: Mystery History -- Solved

Pasadena PIO: Mystery History -- Solved

"...Sally would remember for a long time. The special Champagne Flight left Lockheed Air Terminal at 3 that afternoon. It is called a “Champagne Flight” because..."

Champagne flight to VEGAS

Back in the heady days of 1956, daily flights to Vegas from Los Angeles could be had for a mere $25 each! This included airfair, limo service, drinks (including champagne on the flight - hence the name,) $5 in chips for the Showboat casino, and a big steak dinner. B-Movie, TV and Commercial Actress Sally Todd and her then boyfriend Bill Whitehall were subjects of an article in the 1956, June edition of Playboy Magazine talking about this great trip. Included in the article was the phone number of the airline (STanley 7-3456) that offered this service. Less then a year later Sally Todd would become Playboy Playmate for February 1957. Nothing more is known about the fate of Bill Whitehall.

Miss August 1978

Miss August 1978 was Miss Vicki Witt, a cute brunette who first posed in Playboy's 1977 "Girls of the Big Ten." A year later she was Miss August!

She had plans to work as a singer or actress. Instead she ended up behind the camera, working in Hollywood on Star Wars and the first two Star Trek movies.

She appeared in a few of Playboy's international versions, specifically the Japanese one. That issue has a few more photos of her

There are also some previously unreleased photos of her on Playboy Plus.
